The Obsidian of Monte Arci
Mount Arci is a volcanic massif known for its substantial presence of obsidian deposits, a hard, black glassy rock. Obsidian has been used since the Neolithic period for the creation of tools such as arrowheads and cutting instruments. On the eastern side of the massif, in the area of Pau, there are extensive outcrops of obsidian, particularly the so-called Scaba Crobina, a trail whose bottom is formed almost entirely of obsidian pieces.
